I didn’t want to risk losing over six years of carefully curated playlists. So, I decided to build a tool to back them up. And here we are!

By entering your Spotify Playlist URL, you can generate a downloadable CSV (Excel) file containing all the songs in your playlist. Here's how:
  1. Open Spotify.
  2. Right-click on your playlist and select 'Copy Link to Playlist'.
  3. Paste the link into the input field on this site.
  4. Click 'Submit' and wait for the tool to process your playlist.
  5. When ready, click 'Download File' to get your CSV backup.

Note: The time it takes depends on the size of your playlist.

The Importer helps you restore playlists from your backup file back into your Spotify account. Here's how it works:

  1. Upload your saved CSV file and choose a name for your new playlist.
  2. You’ll be redirected to Spotify’s official site to log in and authorize access.
  3. Once authorized, the tool will create the playlist in your account.

When Importing you agree to the needed scopes, which allows and gives us access to your account and lirbary to write the playlist

To recreate your playlist in your Spotify account, we require the following permissions:

  1. playlist-modify-public – to create public playlists.
  2. playlist-modify-private – to create private playlists.

Currently, we only support Spotify. However, we’re actively working on adding support for other platforms like YouTube and SoundCloud.

Larger playlists may take a little longer to process. If your playlist has more than 1,000 songs, please be patient — the tool will continue working until it’s complete.

We only store the data needed to provide and improve this service.
When you register or log in, we securely save your account details, such as your email address and chosen login method (Google, Spotify, or email/password).
We also keep records of your backups and imports, so you can access and manage them later.
Importantly, we never store your Spotify or Google passwords, and your playlist content is processed only when you actively create a backup or import. All sensitive information is encrypted and handled with care.

Why Back Up Your Spotify Playlists?

How to Export (Backup) a Spotify Playlist to CSV

Our tool is simple, fast, and secure – no Spotify login needed.

  1. Open your playlist in Spotify (web player, desktop app, or mobile).
  2. Copy the playlist URL (it looks like https://open.spotify.com/playlist/...) from the address bar or share menu.
  3. Paste the URL into playlist-backup.com/backup and click "Backup".
  4. Download your CSV file instantly

How to Import a CSV Playlist Back into Spotify

Spotify doesn't support direct CSV imports, but recreating the playlist is easy with free tools:

  1. Go to Here
  2. Upload the CSV File you just generated
  3. Click Import

Tip: Most users keep the CSV as a permanent archive and only recreate playlists when needed.
